Entrance
For Lawcademy, please enter the Community Learning Center through the corner entrance at Michigan and Wayne streets.
The Main Library does not open until 9:00 a.m.
Parking
We recommend street parking on Michigan, parking in the Library's main lot on the opposite side of the Library building, or using South Bend VPA's Wayne Street Garage (free on weekends).
The Fine Print
We're lawyers. Of course there's fine print!
We'll offer a lot of legal information, but not legal advice. Unlike other events where lawyers may offer one-on-one consultations, Lawcademy is different. Our mission is to help people understand the broad legal landscape around certain issues, but our presenters won't be able to advise participants regarding their specific circumstances. We'll clarify why that is during our Opening Session, or check out our FAQs.
We may take pictures or video. This is our first event, and we hope to offer more. That mean's we'll need to make pitches to potential donors, and jazz up our website. So during the event, we'll be taking photos or video here or there for use in Lawcademy promotions and evaluation. We won't use the images for non-Lawcademy purposes, or provide the images to others. Other audio or video recording is at presenter's discretion and may be prohibited.
